I have found Maria Invaluable to me in increasing my confidence in speaking Spanish. It is essential if
you are to string sentences together to learn verbs and she has an excellent method of teaching this.
Charlotte. This lady was in her mid-80´s when she came to my classes 5 years ago.

Varied activities and timed Spanish exercises develop the ability to use and speak Spanish almost right
away; the repetition is important and facilitates the learning process. Christ

Maria’s enthusiasm and genuine interest motivate me; she really wants us to speak Spanish as soon as
possible.Above all, she is extremely patient. I would recommend anyone who wishes to learn Spanish,
to attend Maria’s classes. Clare

I have enjoyed my lessons with Maria. I find that she sets the lessons at the right level for me and explains
clearly when I get confused. I am now beginning to speak and understand. The lessons are good fun. Maria
makes it a very pleasant way to learn a new language. Lesley

Learning a new language can seem a daunting task but with Maria it is taught in a logical, sympathetic manner
and you have fun. Maria is a friendly and relaxed teacher whose lessons are varied, interesting and enjoyable.
She has lots of ideas about how to practice and improve my listening skills outside of lessons.

Working & Living in la Manga

I studied foreign languages as a mature student and as a result I know the difficulties learning a second
language first hand and I have used that knowledge to help mature learners to succeed in speaking Spanish
(I became fluent in French when I was 29, in English when I was 33 and Portuguese at 39). I am now 42
years old.

After living and working abroad for 12 years, I came to La Manga 8 years ago looking for the sun.In the
beginning, I worked selling houses in La Manga Club, but instead of selling houses I found myself teaching
my clients how to read Spanish. This resulted in some of my clients asking me to teach them after work.

Soon I realised that I was a much better teacher than an estate agent, so just 3 months later I dedicated myself
fully to teaching Spanish. I have now been teaching Spanish for 7 years to adults in the La Manga area.

As a qualified Economist, I specialised in foreign trade. My method of teaching is very practical and logical
I teach only what is most important and in the simplest possible way.

I learnt my foreign languages in France, the USA, Brazil and Ireland, so I was taught many different ways of
learning languages. I have my own mix of logical and creative methods. I use my logic to teach you how to
use verbs and make sentences and my creativeness to improve your speaking and understanding.

Over the years with your help and feedback, I have created and refined a method of teaching that is suitable
for adults returning to learning
. You will see yourself progressing with confidence from absolute beginner to
intermediate and advancing at your own pace until you are able to converse with the local Spanish people
with ease.

We will be working on the four abilities: reading and writing in the first part of the lesson (this uses the left side
of your brain) and once your brain is ready to think in Spanish we will work on listening and speaking in the
second part of the lesson. The left side of our brain organizes information such as grammar and vocabulary, while
the right side creates language connections when speaking and listening.

Whatever your level is, you will have amazing results in a short period of time due to the combination of the
following three elements
: the right pronunciation from day one, my simple way of teaching the use of verbs
and how to make sentences and memorize new vocabulary.

A creative, organised, diverse and enjoyable way of teaching. Only if you enjoy the learning process will you
last long enough to become fluent in Spanish. In my opinion, learning and enjoyment must go together for better
results.

Translation into English is used depending on your level. Lessons are totally translated for beginners. As you
progress little by little I will be gradually introducing more and more sentences in Spanish. Lessons will be mostly
in Spanish for advanced learners, although grammar will be always explained in English
